Ilana Intonato is the Executive Director of Academic Technology at UCLA, where she leads the strategy and delivery of technology that supports teaching, learning, and the student and faculty experience. Her portfolio includes learning platforms, academic and student-facing systems, digital accessibility, product management, and the modernization of technology services across the university.
A former educator, Ilana brings a user-centered perspective to the design of learning environments and believes that successful classroom technology must align pedagogy, physical space, digital tools, and sustainable operational support. She works closely with academic leaders, faculty, students, technologists, and campus partners to improve digital experiences, strengthen governance, and translate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, into practical institutional strategies.
Before joining UCLA, Ilana held technology leadership roles at New York University. Her work focuses on building modern, accessible, and resilient higher education ecosystems that enable meaningful teaching and learning experiences.
