John J. Carleo is the Executive Director of Multi-Media and Collaboration Technology at WarnerMedia Group. John has spent his entire career in Technology for production and entertainment. He started in 2001 at CNN as an assistant non-linear editor. He then moved on to work in higher ED at New York University; initially at the Loeb Student Center and then at the Helen and Martin Kimmel Center for University life. At both student centers, John’s focus was on AV support for live events and meeting support. In 2010, John moved to Viacom Media Networks to act as a Senior Media Technician supporting all conference rooms and live event spaces at their corporate offices in New York City. With his background in Live production, John also worked on various annual live events including the VMA’s, the MTV Movie awards, and the annual SXSW music festival. After two years at Viacom, John was recruited by NBC to join their core Audio/Visual team at 30 Rock in New York City. As a tech, John preformed similar meeting support tasks. Upon his request to venture into a project management role, John was assigned to oversee and manage the technology of NBC’s new commissary/large events space. In late 2012, the new space was used for the first time and had a large role in the 2012 Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 30 Rockefeller Center. Next, John was assigned to over 1.5 million square feet of technology refresh at 30 Rock and NBC’s facility in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. After two years of Project management, John was promoted to Director of Audio Visual operations of 30 Rock and the NJ campus. John’s main focus as Director was to unify the end user experience and establish a high availability for all conference spaces. After achieving this John was asked to help the offices outside of the NY area with their conference room technology design which he did throughout the mid-west and California. In 2017, After five years at NBC, three as Director, John left to join Time Warner (now WarnerMedia Group) as the Executive Director of Multi-Media and Collaboration Technology. Over the last year, John’s focus has been the audiovisual technology at WarnerMedia’s New York Corporate office at 30 Hudson Yards. John similarly advises on WarnerMedia technology around the enterprise including the UK, Asia, and European offices.

John attended Rockland Community College studying Communications and Media Arts, as well as the Art Institute of Philadelphia. John received a certificate from NYU’s Stern School of Business focusing on Entertainment, Media, and Technology management. John has also studied Computer Science and Harvard University with Dr. David Malan. John live in Westchester, NY with his wife.
