Bio
Frank Harrison has been fortunate to have a dual career path in both recorded & live media production and streaming media. In his current role as Television Specialist (TVS) at the Office of Correctional Education (OCE), Harrison is the project lead and subject matter expert for the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation IPTV Integration project. As a goal, the Division of Rehabilitative Programs and OCE are now able to deliver live and pre-recorded educational and rehabilitative content to more incarcerated persons throughout the State of California. The project also allows other TVS working at the state prisons to collaborate on video projects remotely. Harrison’s education and work experience in Recording Arts lead to his first job in media technologies, which gained him early entry into the streaming music space at myPlay.com, the first mp3 music locker service, in 1998. At the same time, he continued to record, edit, and mix live music and other audio projects in the Bay Area and Los Angeles. After developing his QA testing and scripting language skills in Silicon Valley into the early 2000’s, he made the move to LA to pursue post-production and live sound full-time. One of Frank’s favorite highlights to this move includes being the principal sound designer for The Groundlings' Main Company from 2003 to 2007, where he worked weekly with current industry heavyweights such as Kristen Wiig (Saturday Night Live), Melissa McCarthy (Mike & Molly), Phil LaMarr (Mad TV), and Jim Rash (Community). Frank Harrison has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema & Television Arts focused in Electronic Media Management from California State University, Northridge. When he is not performing voice-overs and growing his own BluGem MediaWorks production company, Frank is pursuing his Master’s of Communication Management from the USC-Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism.
